The study observed the growth, development and formation of economically valuable traits of cucumber hybrids of different origins, with the aim of fulfilling the Dutch national requirements calling for those which are high yielding and resistant to fungal diseases. The research implemented observations of the growth, development, and formation of economically valuable traits, studied resistance to fungal diseases of cucumber hybrids of different domestic origins and the Dutch selection, grown in protected ground in the spring and summer greenhouse at a film shelter in the Astrakhan region. An analysis of the results of some studies on seed vigor and the degree of infestation by fungal infection showed a selected resistance to downy mildew of cucumber promising mid-season, early-maturing and medium early hybrid domestic and the Dutch selection. It also demonstrated the degree of their adaptation to local climatic conditions.
