It is shown that the workers of the gas production have hyperplastic changes in the thyroid gland more often than those people who are not exposed to the complex effect of industrial hazards, and it is associated with the zobogenic effect of hydrogen sulphide gas which competitively inhibits the transport of iodine into the thyroid epithelial cell. On the background of the euthyroid goiter the activity of aging processes increases mainly with nodal and mixed forms. The individuals with goitre have a "high-normal" level of thyroid-stimulating hormone which is associated with the development of premature aging. The presence of euthyroid goiter increases the course of coronary heart disease, which is characterized by an early development, a higher functional class of angina pectoris and heart failure which is more often manifested by myocardial infarction, painless ischemia, rhythm and conduction disorders.
