The article presents the results of the study of mutational genetic changes by the example of tomato. We found out the mutations in linear tomato breeds that had been put to selection and hadn’t split in the selection lines. Some spontaneous mutation of tomato can be helpful for breed selection and producing of heterotic hybrids. Such grades of tomato as Yuryevski, Karat, Malinovka and Luchistyi were bred in order of size, shape and colour. Under this approach to the mutant process it was found out that the spontaneous mutations occur at the breeds with VKDVST virus.
