Increased economic importance of the thornback skate in the fishery basin of the Azov Sea and the Black Sea excites scientific interest in the assessment of its physiological status. For this purpose we used such criteria as structural features of its liver, kidneys, and gills as these organs quickly respond to the environment effects by various pathological changes of their structure. The study describes morphological traits of the liver, kidneys and gills structure. In the result of the research conducted we have identified nonspecific changes in the histologic structure of the specified organs. All changes in the analyzed organs seem to be adaptive since the fish adapt to the bioenvironmental conditions adjusting their organs functional activity.
