Karyological studies are an integral part of studying the global diversity of genetic resources. Lamium amplexicaule L. is annual grassy aromatic plant of family Lamiaceae Studied is the karyotype structure of the plants Lamium amplexicaule L., growing in the Astrakhan region. This look belongs to group of types of the Lamiaceae family having in a diploidic set of 18 chromosomes. Results of the morphometric analysis of chromosomes are presented. The set of chromosomes (2n = 18) contains 7 couples (I, II-V, VIII, IX) submetacentrics and 2 couples (VI, VII) metacentric chromosomes. The lowest coefficient of variation corresponds to centromeric index II, IV, V and VIII pairs of chromosomes (11,1-11,6 %). On the lower and middle levels vary signs of absolute and relative length of the chromosomes. The average total absolute length of a set chromosomes is equal 73,7 ± 2,91 mkm (C.V. 13,7 %). By means of computer system of “VIDEOTEST-KARIO - 3.1” chromosomes are identified; the formula of the karyotype and the ideogram of chromosomes are made.
