This paper investigates the patterns of distribution of aromatic hydrocarbons in the Caspian oil field well number 67. Group hydrocarbon composition of the Caspian oil fields was determined by aniline points (GOST 12329-77). Found that in narrow fractions 60-95 ВєC predominant class of hydrocarbon compounds are alkanes (78.2 %), followed by naphthenes (17.2 %), arenes (4.6 %). In the fraction of 95-122 В°C the predominant class of hydrocarbons are alkanes (74.2%), followed by naphthenes (16.2 %) and the arenes (9.6 %). In the fraction of 122-150Вє C the dominant class of hydrocarbons are alkanes (87.4 %), then the arenes (12.6 %), naphthenes absent. In the fraction of 150-200 ВєC the dominant class of hydrocarbons are alkanes (82.1 %), then the arenes (17.9 %), naphthenes absent. Just at a fraction of from 60 to 200 ВєC the dominant class of hydrocarbons are alkanes (80.5 %), then the arenes (11.2 %) and naphthenes (8.3 %). The relative distribution of C aromatics in the oil was examined by gas chromatography. In Caspian oil field, the well number 67 relative maximum concentration peak falls on the meta-xylene (48 %), followed by p-xylene (24 %) followed by ethyl benzene and ortho-xylene (14 %, respectively). The relative concentration of meta-xylene is less than 50 %, which indicates that the starting organic material humus oil origin. The relative concentration of ethylbenzene (14 %), which is characteristic of sapropelic organic matter origin for organic matter humus type is characterized by the relative concentration of ethylbenzene below 13 %. Therefore, it was suggested that the initial organic material refers to a type of the Lake.
