The study has investigated the concentration of selenium in the soil of 11 Astrakhan districts, indicating that it ranges from 0,354 ?g/kg in Kamizjak district to 0,148 ?g/g in Krasnoyarsk district (an average 0,239 ?g/kg). The lowest values were typical for 19 % of analyzed soils (0,125–0,175 ?g/kg), with these groups noted as having brown solonchak and saline soil argillaceous sand sabulous clay. The area of optimal concentration of selenium in the soil was 81 % of the analyzed soils (0,175–3,0 ?g/kg). These soils, according to the research project, have alluvial sands, sandy loams, adobes and clays. In conclusion, the document notes that not a single case of studied soil samples had excess selenium.
