The article contains the results of phytochemical research on water extracts of raw vegetative Populus Nigra L materials, with the study undertaken on plants in the Astrakhan region. The research has shown the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, phenol glycosides and tannins. A method was used, the paper relates, to define the flavonoids via spectrophotometry. Initially, the extract was processed with chloroform, with the aim of purifying the chlorophyl extract. The paper has found that the percentage of flavonoids in aqueous-alcoholic (60 %) extraction from vegetative raw material of leaves and buds of Populus Nigra L. (recalculated for dry raw materials) is at the levels of 0.03 and 0.05 % respectively. In the following stage, the document states that research was conducted on the essence derived from buds of Populus Nigra L. The commentary says that optimum conditions were selected for its allocation, with these indicating that the oil exit changes following the addition of alkalis or acids into a reactionary environmental chain. The blueprint claims that the greatest exit of essence was obtained during hydrodistillation with alkali, which probably promoted the course of hydrolytic processes resulting from the liberation of terpenoids.
