Based on the field research conducted by the authors in the period from 1995 to 2022, a critical analysis of the literature data and herbarium material, a recommendation is made for making changes to the Red Book of the Astrakhan Region and the Russian Federation. We propose to change the rarity category of 6 and include 18 species in the Red Book of the Astrakhan region. It is also recommended to include in the Red Book of the Russian Federation 4 extremely rare species for Russia and the Bogdinsko-Baskunchaksky salt-dome region: Poacynum kazakevichchii, Diarthron vesiculosum, Eremoblastus caspicus, Thymus eltonicus.
