MOISTURE AND SALTS SPATIAL VARIATION PECULIARITIES IN THE SOILS OF ANTHROPOGENICALLY TRANSFORMED LANDSCAPES OF THE VOLGA DELTA

Since the violation / change of the main soil-forming factors, including water regime, is the fundamental principle for the agricultural soils degradation processes, the peculiarities of migration and transformation of substances in the soil at the landscape level and at the level of the soil type must be taken into account. On this basis, an experimental field study of postagrogenic soils was carried out, and following the study of soil moisture in a specific period of time and saline conditions, its water regime peculiarities were established. The interdependences, confirming the assumption about the non-functioning melioration systems impact on the spatial distribution of postagrogenic soils properties and regimes were obtained. A correlation analysis showed that in the postagrogenic soils the amount of moisture (r = -0,54, -0,69) ) and salts (r = -0,66, -0,50) increases with a decrease of landscape in the terrain. Embankments and former irrigation canals influence the redistribution of moisture and salts in soils, which is confirmed by the mathematical statistics methods. The presence of former irrigation and drainage canals creates the conditions for the horizontal and lateral redistribution of moisture and salts between the landscape soils.
