The purpose of work was development of a technique of a cryopreservation of ova of fishes with use of cryoprotectors of enveloping action. Material for the study served as a starlet caviar. Action on eggs of fishes of vegetable oils of different brands as a cryoprotector of enveloping action is studied. The percentage of intact eggs ranged 24.7-31.0 % using unrefined oils No. 1 and No. 2. While, as the refined oils No. 1 and No. 2 egg retained only 21.3 % and 17.6 % respectively. It is established that all oils, in independence of brand, are capable to protect ova of fishes at a cryopreservation. The studies also revealed that the unrefined oils have a lower density and therefore exert minimal pressure on fish eggs during freezing.
