Unique tracts of oak forests, common Volga-Akhtuba floodplain, classified as communities of class Querco-Fagetea Br.-Bl. et Vlieger in Vlieger 1937, of the order Fagetalia sylvaticae Paw. in Paw., Sokolowski et Wallisch 1928 and of the union Poo-Ulmion Golub 1991. For this territory are allocated a association with prevalence of Quercus robur. Researched communities are relict forest communities, who reached the final stages of the successional development, typical for the floodplains of the southern rivers. The lack of seed resume, copies of 1st generation and severe leaf testifies to their unfavorable state. In community composition marked the adventive species – Fraxinus pennsilvanica, Amorpha fruticosa, Xanthium strumarium. Lack of flooding the study area and a high degree of groundwater mineralization indicate extremely unfavorable conditions for the growth of oak and require a decision on the inclusion of forests with oak dominance chereshcha-order in protected areas of the valley of the Lower Volga.
