The dynamics of free radical homeostasis of mature sex male rats under the influence of prenatal injections of cerebrolysin to their mothers during the 3 trimester of a normally occurring pregnancy was studied. The dynamics of the antioxidant system (general antioxidant activity, activity of superoxide dismutase, catalase and ceruloplasmin) and free-radical processes (the level of lipid peroxidation, oxidative modification of proteins and peroxidic hemolysis of red cells were considered. Cerebrolysin was found to cause significant and characteristic shifts in antioxidant and free radical homeostasis in sexually mature offspring: a decrease in catalase activity and total antioxidant activity, an increase in the level of free radical lipid oxidation, peroxidic hemolysis of erythrocytes and a decrease in the level of oxidatively modified proteins.
